is anybody doing anything on the southshore,,,captree etc.i tryed for alittle while at captree today in a few spots... really just wetting a line an some scouting

I tryed JB piers today 11:30am to 1:00pm
Nothing, not even a Seal.

They are traditionally night feeders until they come in big time and really start competing for food... slow pick on N shore last night

i hear that magnolia pier in long beach has been pretty good

I heard it's elbow to elbow like fishing on a party boat and you have to be able to understand Russian and Asian, but there getting them if you can bear the mob.

Killing them at Magnolia,was there friday night and caught about 40-50 in about 2 1/2 hrs.

Was at Captree today for herring, nothing. Could the FI inlet dredge operation have anything to do this? The water has been dirty the last few trips down.

ANyone know if the herring are in Shinne**** or Greenport docks? was thinking of wetting a line on Friday if weathers decent. I know they were in Shinne**** 3wks ago not thick but there just wondering if anybody has tried lately

It seemed the bluefish took a North Shore/CT/NY bight exit could the herring be taking the same route? Why Magnolia and not FI?

I've seen the herring pushing into Fire Island inlet a few days this year, and pushing up the bay ion this morning's flood, past the bridge. the dredge in the inlet shouldn't effect the movement, but the dredging in the Basin could effect the fishing at Captree.

Just got back from Captree fished the incoming.. nothing.. no scales on any docks..

funny you're not allowed to fish these piers at night yet but they light them all up for what I don't know... just to burn Arab oil I guess

I thought you can fish captree at night if you have a four wheel drive pass, or is that a seasonal thing?
