Hi,
I usually fish in my boat out of Port Jefferson.

I will be fishing Friday day out of Hempstead Harbor for the first time. I will be going for stripers.

Any hints/tips/suggestions for fishing Hempstead Harbor/Manhasset Bay area ?

I would check out Execution Rock, Matinicok Point, and Stepping Stones Lighthouse. I have also done well near Ft. Totten. My boat is not in the water yet but those places have been pretty productive over the past few years. Good Luck!

Western Sound Stripers

At this time of the year I would head over to the north east side of execution just before the start of the out going tide in 32-34 feet of water. Bunker chunks would be my bait.

i fish the south side of execution (about 150 yds south of the cove), with bunker chunks, on fish finders. 28-35ft of water. the key is a lot of chum.
