Left Cos Cob sat at 6:30 am and decided to try trolling way down at hempstead harbor. Trolled near watertower on west shoreline. Caught bass emmediatly on shad umbrella, then nothing for rest of am. Did see some very very sparse bunker activity at mid sound and at the mouth of the harbor. However did not see any baitfish activity that resembled the reports of the last two weeks. Where is all this bait that everone has been talking about? No bait.....no spring run of bass in western LIS!!! On the brighter side....
