Surf Reports indicate strong ****tails and snappers on the north shore in the western sound.

Tried at Bayville and Prybil's on Sunday between 3:30 and 5:30 pm

Just a handful of snappers and seen a lot of sea robbins. Tried bait and lures.

Has anyone experienced larger fish from the surf....consistantly?

My daughter is getting fustrated and is a little disappointed.

Just trying to confirm some of these reports.

Suggestions for other locations or techniques appreciated.

Is Ramson Beach any better? Didn't look there

Thanks much

If you go to either Hempstead Harbor Beach Park on West Shore RD. or even the Port Washington Town Dock your daughter will have a great time catching a lot of large snappers and some ****tail blues using bait or small tins. You have to start early the best time is at the crack of dawn thru 9am. After 9am it slows down and picks up again 2 hours before sunset. Ransom Beach will be a good spot to fish by the second week of October when bluefish start there migration.
