I have an 88 199ssv Glastron with a Mercruiser Alpha One stern drive. I was out the other day and when I went to adjust the trim to raise my bow all I heard was a clicking noise. Kinda like if a car battery is dead and you try to start it. The outdrive would not trim up or down nor could I trailer it. Any idea's as to what needs replacing? Trim pump? Solinoid? Any ideas where to start would be helpfull. Thanks in advance.

Most likely the solenoid or the connections to the solenoid. I just went through the same issue. A good way to test if the solenoid is bad is to by pass them with an insulated wire or a couple of screwdrives. If your trim moves up or down, depending on which solenoid you bypass, then you know the solenoid is bad. Then go out and replace the solenoid, like an $18.00 part if I remeber right. I needed to replace the top one and then to fix the bottom one I just needed to clean up the connections real good, trim back some corroded wire and use new connectors.

Tight lines.
