A longtime friend of mine with bad Cerebral Palsy asked me if I would take a trip to Fla. on the beach in the spring. My brother is going to join us to help out. It being Fla. I see no reason why we shouldn't book a little fish time. Any suggestions re. half day or so for 3 for a little plugging and drifting would be appreciated.

Thats awesome idea. I love to see comments and activites like this. My cousin has Cereberal Palsy...was on cover of LI Fisherman a few yrs back with a MONSTER striped bass out of Orient Pt. with Capt. Bob. I think its really crucial to to find the right kind of person with a good set up on his boat. I dont actually know of anybody in FL with a set up for wheelchair. Out of Orient for stripers Capt. Bob has ramp, wheel chair locks and push button reels...awesome! I love to get out with my cousin as I'm sure you enjoy it with your friend. Good fishing! Hope you find what you need to make it a great experience! Post PICS!

there are drift boats (party boats) and charters in many locations there....

You can speak to a charter Capt. about a 4 hour trip. They do those regularly. It will be more expensive but he'll get lots of individual attention, no tangles with the people around you. You don't have to walk a tough fish around the boat as much etc... Those trips usually run around $400. plus tip. They'll usually take up 4 people for that price depending on the Capt. and what kind of boat they run.

Plenty of drift boats around. They pretty much all do half day trips. The half days run from $35- $40 per person plus tip.The Capt. On the Sea Legs 2 in Hollywood Fla. told me that the King fish bite is really strong in May.That's fun fishing. There'll probably be Sailfish etc. too.

you can google ft. Lauderdale fishing. Or google Just Add Water charters , Capt Ron Mallet, he does pretty well from the look of his reports. there are plenty to choose from.

Good luck! Lemme know how you do and who you choose!
