Wooow - Your not comparing apples to apples. Carolina Classic narrow beam, super deep vee, great ride, high quality construction, Single jackshaft I/O (gas or diesel)? VS. bigger cabin, wide beam, lesser ride, twin outboards (?) , what year (construction varies). what are you looking to do ?

While I do not have the background to compare the 2 boats, I have a '93 225 Sailfish and love the boat. Great ride, safe, comfortable, plenty of room. Wide beam gives a great platform for fishing or hanging out. Kids love the boat, tubing, even did an overnight. I understand that CC makes a great boat too.

This is a tough one since i'm partial to the Carolina Classic. However, in your case, i'd opt for the Grady White. This boat has a 9 1/2' beam and has a greater power option package whereas the CC has a single screw and a narrower beam. Both boats are very seaworthy but i think you'd get more for your $$$ with the Grady in the 25' range.
If you want to go to 28', you'd be hard pressed to find a better boat than the 28' Carolina Classic. IMHO, the 28' Carolina Classic w/twin diesels is the best 28 footer out there.

I don't own either but if I had to choose i would go Grady. The Carolina 28 w/diesels is a great boat. One problem I did not like was the way they put the props 1/2 tunnel drive. I have been on a Carolina many times and the noise that the prop wash hitting the hull makes still bothers me, It sounds like two guys smacking hammers on the hull or rocks in the tranny. I personaly think you can get alot more boat /performance/fishability with other brand names for alot less money. My friends 28 w/diesels and full tower ran in the area of 115.000k that to me is a lot of money for a 28 that has a small cabin. Also w/full curtains the spray soakes the back of the boat w/ a fine mist.I was not impressed w/ the ride.

I own a 25.5 Grady sailfish with new twin 200 efi merqs. The boat has many more pros than cons.Good things...Very big boat for a 25 footer. The cabin has sleeping room for 3, stand up shower and deep cooler, the ****pit is very roomy for both family and fishing, I do alot of offshore fishing and plenty of room for it.. it handles great offshore.Lots of storage space, live well, saltwater washdown, easy to manuever. Now the downside:Fuel consumption is massive, the twins 200 efi's love lots of fuel.I guess thats why it holds 202 gallons. Doesent handle the best in bay chop seems like it it rocks back and forth too much...but never pounding, just rocking under power...All said and done im extremly happy the the Grady.,.,Good luck charlie...
