Curious as to what you finally purchased. I am looking into the Garmin 188C also and was hoping to follow up with you. I like the Fact that it is a WAAS unit, screen size is OK and it uses the Blue Chart system. The Blue Chart system supposed to be the best charting system out there. C-Map and Navtronics just are not supposed to be as good.
Did you buy it? Feedback??
