Reports are saying that several areas still have decent ice coverage. Now when I say decent ice, I mean 5-6" of good stuff yet. Higher elevations, shallow water, and wind protection will be key in locating these few icy paradises. Search around, you might be pleasently surprised.

Keep in mind that almost all ice is unsafe and keep checking thickness as you go. Stay away from inlets and flowing water. Watch rocky areas as these hold warmth and therfore thinner ice.

It is possible to extend what little of a ice season we had, you just have to be careful and know your ice!!
