Went to forge river last night,(7:30-11:00)1st cast bang,2nd cast bang,(oh boy gonna be a good night)ventured around lake a little bit,but the fish were so aggresive I didn't have to go far from launching site.lost count after 10.fish ranged from 1lb. to 2 1/2 all males,Females must have been in post spawn. Same two lure's (Buzzbaits)My custom made worked better after dark.

Talked to a guy as I was just starting,he said nodda,to choppy.to choppy said to myself,perfect buzzbait & spinnerbait conditions,neadless to say did'nt even pic up the spinnerbait rod.

Colored blades?does any body experiment with colors,well here's alittle tip,black buzz,black blade(full moon)black buzz,silver blade(no moon)guys give it a shot in over cast cond.also,I think you'll be suprised.I'm sure there's a bunch of you who already do this,but I have yet to see it.Lte me know what you think.

Jim,,here's directions to Forge river.
L.I.E.(495)ex.71south,1st.left onto s. river road,this will put the river on left,DEC boat launch,on left,look for green sign,continue on down,I launch my boay at the east end of the lake,never have had a problem parking here.(knock on wood)I was a mamber of Long Island Bass master's,but lost my fishing buddy due to marriage,so I just lost interast,in the club,(great group of guy's)maybe some day I'll join again,I've fished many tourney's on forge,& have done well.buy far one of the best fisheries on long Island.My biggest bass was caught here(6#.14oz's)but have wittnesed a 7#8oz.fish

Fish was weighted in at fishermans deli,and released back were,she came from,caught,during summer doldrums,on blue & black jig&pig,under willow tree.
