The trip from NY ( Huntington area) to Hyannis is about 5 hours. I have done it 4 hours 20 minutes but thats when the car had wings on it. The Wreck trips usually have bigger fish in the 15 to 25 pd category with occasional brutes up to 50. The boat has never anchored on any trip I have been on. I prefer bait fishing but on 90% of the trips I have taken, jigs far outfished bait, even over the wrecks. Cpt. Joe gets you right over the fish so when he blows the horn to drop your lines.....DONT DELAY. It's a long way down and the boat moves fast because of the currents and the wind. If you dont get down ASAP you may miss your shot at that spot. IF its a big piece or the drift is slow, you may nail fish right away and have time to get down to the bottom for a second fish. Where is the place to do a Georges Cod Trip the Helen H out of Hyanns or the Fances Fleet out of Rhode Island.I see the Helen does a trip every day at 4am, the Frances does weekend trips leaving at 10pm returning at 10 pm the next day, is it that long of a ride from Rhose Island or I am missing something?I would prefer to baitfish rather than jigging
