My boat goes in the water in a few weeks.. and I started thinking about the game plan.. I have a 23' walkaround, and pick my days carefully for the ocean, so I spend a lot of time in the bays (west end of Long Island)..
So I am thinking:
April 1-14: If the conditions are good, explore the local reefs for blackfish and sea bass. Scout around for Mackeral. If not, try for herring in the bay or try my luck at the bridges for sea bass and blacks..
April 15- Add striped bass to the mix!
Who knows when fluke season will open.. they will probably announce it the day it happens
