This thread is a good example of fishermen keeping other fishermen informed. There is some revealing information on those sites. High profile people ( especially our lawmakers) who support PETA's causes should be emailed (or otherwise informed) about this organization's darker side - if for no better reason than to show them WE are very well informed.
I believe our lawmakers will not be so bold as to pass legislation past us that will harm us, if they think we are doing our homework and are willing to take action to support our sport. The best way to show them this is to contact them!
PETA once sued a guy who made bumper stickers that said "PETA: People Eating Tasty Animals"
Another bubper sticker I saw once said, "if people aren't supposed to eat animals, why are they made out of meat?"
"Name changes of cities
PETA regularly asks towns and cities whose names are suggestive of animal exploitation to change their names. For example, a campaign was launched in the late 1990s to have the cities of Hamburg and Frankfurt, Germany change their names, since the names are associated with hamburgers and hot dogs. The cities were offered free veggieburgers for all of their residents for life if they agreed to the change. Both cities refused. However, these campaigns have been effective in generating media coverage of animal-rights issues."

Actually one of PETA's slogans could come in quite handy when Christmas or your wife's or girlfriend's birthday comes along. If you get any hints about that beautiful mink coat, just tell her "I'd rather you be naked than wear fur"
Denmark
PS, before you try this, make sure that you have a comfortable couch to sleep on for the forseeable future! lol
