Fishing Contests!

There's a new and pleasant surprise at the Federation Show! The show is now having four fishing contests throughout the year. One every two months for Striped bass, Fluke, Blue fish and Black fish. You fish in New York waters and if you catch the biggest fish you could win a four day fishing trip (all expenses paid) to Cabo San Lucas and the Florida Keys. There were three lovely ladies who explained that to enter you just have to be a member of the Federation and be atleast 18 or older. Once caught, you must have your fish weighed (weighing slips will be provided) and the fish must be caught in New York waters. It seems like a great deal and you are even entered for free in a raffle to win additional trips locally. I definitely recommend for everyone to check this out!

Freeport Show Info

"Is it worth the trip?"..........

It has become the best gathering of Vendors and Fisherman on Long Island. Best part is that it's a FISHING show, not to be shared with New Boats and Hunting Booths.
Go there and see for yourself.......

You didn't, Yes, I did.

Thank you all for your replies. I ended up going, as a matter of fact I just got back, alot lighter too. I just had to do it. One more ZeeBaas off the market. Of course it needed a new home so a new Lami snuggled up to it in the bag. Just in time to hit the back bays too. Nice seeing you KatsFish & Pablo. Hang in there buddy. I live where your boat is stored and getting by with white perch in the am.

I just got back from the show. Well worth the time to go. Lots of good deals on reels, foul weather gear, rigs ect. I met Capt. Neil and got to see some of his work.

I saw an intersting product that is added to engine oil called Power Up. Supposed to reduce friction in bearings. Any one ever hear of this stuff? The demo the guy did of the product was very convincing.

i bought a liter of that power up. i remember that guy at the show last year. i overheard a guy walking by say to his friend that stuff worked. i'll test it out in my van before i dump it into my boat's diesels though. however, did you notice how much of that stuff he mixed with the water. made me wonder... we'll see.

Worth it

Got back from the show a little while ago. Bought a few teasers from Harvey Pnutbunker, and began the process of having a codfish rod built by Capt Neil. All in all, a fun few hours, especially the nice conversation with Neil. You're a true gentleman, Cap!
