I will be at the Freeport Show all weekend. I hope the snow stays away. Please stop by and say hello. Al, rodprof, Goldberg and I have a double booth just inside the SHow Room.

I will be selling the raffle tickets for the custom rod with proceeds to assist the Tyler Vranick Fund. This is the 2nd to last show that I will be selling tickets.

Night Caster has a booth in the main entrance. His booth has crystal pieces for sale. It is a good location for any of our members to meet, plenty of room and near the coffee.

You BASH guys don't forget to wear your BASH name tags!!!!

Not Bad.

The show was as I suspected. Some good deals for those looking, and other things that were the same as regular store prices.

J & J had a nice assortment of SuperStrike plugs for $10 a piece or 2 @ $18. One guy had Bingle Bait tails 3 for $5. Oyster Bay Tackle had great prices on reels. Causeway had some Little neck poppers and Gibbs Pencils for $9 and $10 respectively and J & H had the Penn International 12LT for only $250 I was very tempted to grab one and have Tuna Toys show me how to supe it up to a 30 pound drag reel, but I had to save something for Valentines day.

Next up Lindenhurst and Suffren

Well, I grabbed more than a handful, and a buddy beat me to the black backed darters, but they brought a lot and a nice selection of colors and styles (littlnecks, bottles, darters, in sinking and floating, and blue, green, yellow, pearl, black (gone now)) No needles for me to get and load a' la' Bill Wetzel.

I forgot to mention, it was nice to meet up with many of the guys again. Capt Niel and rodprof have a booth together, Bill Wetzel has a booth in the area where you first walk in (With a picture of you on his board JP), Makomagic Jr. was at J & J, this guy called Crazy Al was at the Northeast Angler booth (can't wait to see the show guys) with Paul Melnick showing off the new Hurricane jackets.

Plus, I met up with Baywatch, Togmaster, Mattyblazer, Gadwall8 and a few other friends. It was nice, and I wish I could have stayed longer, but dad had to get work.

Chris,

It was good seeing you at the show. Looking forward to getting together with you during the season.

I also saw Crazy Alberto, Baywatch, Togmaster, and Sam584(?). I'll be working at the booth the rest of the weekend. Paulie Bad Attitude and my pop are going Saturday morning.

Captain Neil - nice talking to ya & thanks for the explaination on spril wraping. You do some nice work & you be da man when I decide to go custom.

Saw Nightcaster & his $15 goodie packages for the wife.

Saw Crazy AL lurking about & almost walked into Billy the Greek.

Would like to have seen a little more "Apparel" selection. Was looking for a pair of breathable waders - didn't see any waders period.

Other then Cabaleas - does any one know where I can get a decent canvas tackle pack? Looking for a backpack set-up. I got too much to lug down to the beach & I'm looking to free up my hands so I can bring more.

Good to meet you, Paul. Met Capt. Niel too, but didn't see any other name tags. I thought I was going to the boat show at the coliseum first, but I couldn't find it there!

The Capt. makes some beautiful fishing rods. I'm going to throw some of the flies I bought at the false albies next year, but ****.......couldn't find any saltwater fly line.

Got a great buy on Acme Sidewinders, my favorite for ****tail blues. Picked up a coupla cheap poles for the boat at J&H too. Woulda loved to get more, but I got mugged by St. Valentine yesterday :)

Fiday night

Was there friday and got some nice hand tied teasers with 4/0 hooks, 30 and 50 lb fluro, some good 4/0 eagle claws fluke hooks and some custom made swievel bucktails.:)

Lots of good stuff just got to hunt them up.

Also going to try a rig for fluke. It consists of a bullet or fluke ball tied with 2 feathers opposite ways on a 10-14 inch leader off the swievel. The reason for the oppisite feathers is that it will creat a parachute effect. Looked pretty good can't wait to try.

All in all a nice show.
