They need to learn from the loss last year.They should also re-organize the whole tournament.

the people that ran it last year will not be running it this year , 3/4 of the club was PISSED
i was there and have been going for several years. The boat we take has been going almost since its beginning and i will leave its name out.
With that said , I am SO pissed off about what happened last year. I also cursed in protest up and down when they decided to go again , thats when the re organization was explained.
The reason being all the years of great tournements , which seemingly ended when Dave Wygota stopped running it. The last few years were lack luster at best and last years decision was down right insain. Especially after MANY MANY old time copetitors like our crew begged them to postpone till sunday and we come all the way from connecticut. and pounded our way there for somthing like 6 hours up the island the day before. I dont know if any of you were there But then there were big battle wagons coming back under protest and 3/4 of the fleet was back there was a borderline riot on the docks. and they guys running the tournement all hopped in a boat and took off from the tournement area.
all in all it was a complete dissapointment. But since they ditched all the ones running it for a new staff i think we should check it out.

Badlatitude, as part of this "re-organization", how much of the proceeds will be giong to the familys, maybe college education funds for the children, or, will all the PROFITS made from the tournament be used to fund Hunson Angler Club BBQ's, picnics, etc.

i dont know about any of that as i am not a members of the hudson anglers nor will i ever consider being one. Nor am i defending them. we stayed at the dock didnt even run the blowers. a captain is god on his boat , in the end it is his own judgement that comes into play.
i dont know wht outcome of the lawsuite but thats a very good question if they took all of the proceeds from the tourne and gave it to the family and there was no prize i would actually want to fish it. Instead of just going to see whats up with them.

fhashark1, by the way, I don't think there will be anywhere near the kind of prize money you are talking about this year, I know a LOT of peole will not be fishing it. Hopefully there will be so little interest it will get cancelled, unless of course they take my advice and do the right thing.

i think ive seen your boat , quite a few times there. And you would definatly know the boat we go to the torney on ,,,, you should bring this idea up. at the next meeting. I think that its a way better idea. Anyone who fishes tourneys does it for the rush and the win. If anyone actually needs the money that bad they should have 500 grand layed up in a boat and gear. I think this idea is a viable option to save the 30 year heritage of the tourny

BadLatitude, I know it is a good idea, not because I thought of it, but because it is the right thing to do. But, they will not do it, they have not done the right thing at all starting from calling the tournament a go that day instead of using the weather date. There are a lot of other things they did not do right and it continues to this day by trying to have this tournament so that they can raise money for their little club outings and pretend nothing ever happened.
They will not have any of my money and PLENTY of other people I know feel the same way.

will be on the back of a new toy , im just drawn between a 36 hat and a 37 topaz right now

Keep the name and good luck with the next boat."Bad Attitude" was the name of my boat for the last 12 years however I sold the boat about a month ago and the name will go with the boat.
