:)As part of the SPORTFISHING ON LONG ISLAND program sponsored by the Suffolk County Dept. of Parks, there will be a FREE / Open-to-the Public seminar held at the Dennison Bldg. (1st Fl. Media Rm.) on Vets' Hwy. in Hauppauge on April 29, 2008 @ 7:30 P.M. Capt. Bob Rocchetta will be our annual guest to present his program on "The Art of Catching Striped Bass". He currently runs his charterboat, Rainbow, full-time out of Orient. Capt. Bob is an IGFA World Record Holder (50 lb. class line) for his 76 lb. striped bass which he captured off of Montauk in 1981. That fish is also the current NYS record for largest stiper ever caught in the NY waters. Bob always gives a very lively and informative presentation and his appearance should get many of us psyched up for the upcoming bass season. So come on down the night of April 29th for an evening filled with fun and helpful instruction.

:)Also on hand that evening will be Gyotaku Artist Jack Schwartz. Jack works on Gyotaku ? The Japanese Art of Fish Printing
Taken from Jack's website (www.jaxsfishprints.com):
The Gyotaku artist works to create easily recognizable, full-scale translations of a fish, rather than precise replicas. Jaxs paintings capture the essential, individual elements of each subject. The final fish print is a result of the artist?s love of environment, attention to detail and his imaginative use of materials.
I love his work and because of that have invited Jack to display some of his creations.

:)We will also have some free raffles for handcrafted bucktails.

Don't forget:

Hope to see many of you there.

Yes, that is correct, brian. As part of Capt. Mc's courses, he has some professionals give seminars. He graciuously opens the doors to non-roster invitees. I have been to several. Definately worth the time and the price can't be beat!

Yes, Brian, as Makoman16 indicated, there is no signup. Bring your "friends, relatives & countrymen".
It should be an enjoyable and educational evening.
