As I use my boat for both inshore and offshore, I dont really want to take up precious ****pit space with a permanantly mounted chair. I've seen ads for the Garelick folding chairs with a gimbal on them. Anybody have one or used one. They look sturdy but i'm 250+ also do they slide all over or does the fishermans weight keep it in place during the fight. Any thoughts?

folding chair

I got one,and I do use it on my 29' .A kidney harness works OK with it.I'm bigger than you and it holds me.It does slide, which means you can turn it with your feet.
Now,I prefer the stand-up method, easier to move around with. But for less than 150 bucks, its still a chair.I sit in it all the time when doing inshore fishing,or cutting baits, chunks, etc.I won't let anyone sit in it while under way and bouncing all over ,its not THAT strong.
My boat is by Crossbay, before the toll, call me in the early summer, and try it.
