For those of you in the ny bight area that might be interested there is a fluke tournament this sat aug 2nd read info below :
The Sheepshead Bay Yacht Club hosts an Annual "Fluke" Tournament every summer. Its a chance to Compete to see who really has it on the open water to bring back that "Big" Fluke. Every year there have been some real Trophy catch. So come Join us down The Sheepshead Bay Yacht Club for some Friendly Competition and see who really has it in the Sport of Fluking.
2008 Tournament Information
Date: August 2, 2008
Captains Meeting/Sign-up: August 1, 2008 7PM-9PM
-Tournament will start at 7:00 AM and end at 3:00 PM
- Committee boats will be monitoring Channel 68
-The Committee boat will be north of the Roundhouse and begin accepting numbers at 6:45 AM. Once you have given your number you may proceed to your fishing grounds.
- It is a 7:00 "wetline" start, but you must turn in your card at the committee boat before you begin. The committee boat will leave at 7:45. Any boat arriving after the time will have to turn their card in at SBYC before fishing
- Any boat that does not turn in their card will be disqualified and will not be allowed to weigh in.
- The tournament will end at 3:00 PM sharp.
- All fish to be weighed in must be on the premises by 3:00 PM in the boat or in the car
- Weigh in will start at 3:30 PM
