According to the regs posted here on Noreast the season lasts through Sept 1. That would include Monday as part of the season.

The DEC website lists the Open Season for 2008 "summer flounder (fluke)" as May 15 to September 1. I just telephoned the East Setauket Bureau of Marine Resources (631 444-0430), spoke to a very, very nice pleasant woman, who stated that the season ends midnight, Sept 1.

Rosie is doing a full day trip on monday, I would assume they are confidant that Sept 1st is still open.

Well..after a lenghty conversation with the lovely women from DEC she informed me that it is not Midnight August 31st it is Midnight on September 1st...She actually call me back and informed me of the mistake...Sorry to all who read the above post and have fun on Monday September 1st catching those Doormats!!!
