I just heard from a pretty reliable source fron City Island that the fluke season has been closed.

Whre have you been? Fluke season was cloased last fall. It won't be opened again automatically, since the default is whatever last year ended on. NYS needs to open it for it to open.

This guy I spoke to said that there will be no fluke season in 08 period. Maybe he knows something and maybe he does't but he has ties to the state agencies.

Right now no possesion allowed.

Correct, that's the official word from D.E.C. I check out their website reguarly. I think this guy was pulling my chain from the start, but he claimed to be a marine biologist that has ties with the D.E.C., and he did talk the talk.

If you read the special note about fluke and porgy the last line states "There will be a 2008 fluke season".On the DEC webpage that is.So they are promising us one.
