I'm sitting around the tackle shop today playing marketing manager and rearranging the wall when something dawned on me. In place of big bucktails, had anyone tried using a 4-oz Par-A-Chute in place of a Spro or Smilin' Bill for fluke. Stands to reason that the fluke we are targeting want something big and the parachute hair makes them BIG. Head is the same as a mondo-sized Smilin' Bill. Cost-wise, a 4-oz chute costs 80 cents more than a 3-oz Smilin Bill where I am. And the double hair on the chute gives more life to the lure and more closely represents the local squid.

Food for thought.

The Paras I was looking at had 6 inch hair forward & back and heads the same color as the hair. White, pink or chart. I would think crimping the eye of a stinger hook on or tying in a stinger and putting a big strip might shoo the shorts away and be better for the size of the fish I'm seeing in the pics from the east and north fork
