I know the basic baits that work but wanted to try something else...I WAS GOING TO CONSIDER TRYING A FEW SMALL PORGIES OUT A MONTAUK...BUT IM NOT COMFORTABLE TAKING ILLEGAL ONES...IF I DID..AND MAY GOD FORGIVE ME..ARE THEY A GOOD FLUKE BAIT? I actually have one of those old salt nets to get my own bait and may try that also.

Live snappers are legal yes and work very well for fluke if you can keep them alive in your baitwell. Live killies work real well too. A live porgy of legal size will be better for bass or blues but I don't see why a fluke would pass it up. Porgies have to be 10.5" and you can keep 10 per day. For snappers you are allowed 15 fish but only 10 of them can be less than 12" in length.
