I have never caught a flounder and it is one of the few fish in long island waters I have not caught. I was wondering if there are still a few places on the island that you can fish from shore and still pick up a couple. Any info will be a huge help. thanks

You can try the boat ramp on atlantic ave in freeport.Bring a small chum pot, some chum, mussels and worms.Milburn creek has always held flounder and the ramp is all the way in the back of the creek.I have seen people bring up some nice flounder from there.

Where on Atlantic Ave is there a boat ramp? I thought AA was a few blocks from the water?

Late season flounder can be had near sore thumb and piers by captree/moses. Rent a skiff and try for them in J-Bay where there is still a fairly good bite or go on a Sheepshead bay P-Boat for Raritan Bay flounders.

also there is a marina on Shore Road with public parking and a dock of you want to target them from the surf. From the boat, around the inlet to little bay, the mouth of the cove you see if you stay to the right and follow the shoreline. and the waters around the inlet. mussels in a chum pot, sand worms as bait. chum heavy. fish on sunny days. it takes time, so dont get frustrated. if flounder dont coroperate, the same areas are good for early season schoolies. small soft plastics and sandworms under a float hope this helps.
