I can't evan spell it nevermind tie it, do you guys all glue your knots when useing florocarbon leaders? I went to 80 lb yo-zuri hybred this year on my 50TW and I have had some knots slip, I can't imagin glueing knots in the middle of the night while the bite is on and everything is wet. The leaders I can glue before hand at home but when you break and try to retie what do you do then? Thanks in advance!

I use the improved clinch knot on my
fluorocarbon leaders twice thru the eye
of the hook with (6)wraps wet and pull
tight. This works for me on 50#-80# test
fluorocarbon,I never use glue.
PS.I have a small spray bottle of water
with 2-3 drops of dish detergent in it
that I spray on the knot before pulling
it tight, really helps.Got that idea from
another site.

HPD,

This is for hook to fluoro leader, right? If so, try a palomar knot..easy to tie in those chaotic situations and holds up well. Don't forget to lube it up before tightening, especially w/ fluoro. What knot are you tying that needs glue? Good luck

Thanks for the reply

I have been using the same improved cinch knot for 25 years on offshore fishing, this year I went to 80lb flourocarbon on my 50TW and I had two knots pull so far this year, dam embaresing. I am thinking about ditching this line and going back to Jinki for the rest of the season. I have not had a problem with the 50 lb flouro just this 80lb Yo-Zuri Hybrid.

If I'm tieing directly to the hook, I use a simple snell. (I think they have a discription in the knot section on this site) If I am going to a swivel I'll use a improved clinched. With the bigger line you may need to make a couple more wraps then you have been using in lighter line. Good luck.
