Is there any way to thin regular Flex Coat other than just heating it up? I really like the finish of Flex Coat Light but I couldn't get it where I live. Can someone sugest a substitute that goes on nice and thin and stays gin clear. Thanks!!

Hi,

I don't like to heat up epoxy because it escalates the cure process.

I know some who add 1 drop of zylol for every cc of resin. Mix well , add hardner , mix well and use.

I, personally would go to www.rodbuilding.org On th left side of screen is a list of companies selling rod stuff. You will find many that sell Flex coat products.

Many rod builders like using Flexcoat epoxy. It does set up faster than other products.

Check out U40 Duragloss LS Supreme. Classic coat is the product I use and they also have a 'lite" product.

Good Luck.
