fished around the shore of city island. heard some good reports from around there, acouple being from rocko. went around the beginning of the outgoing. a slow day compared to what i heard. befriended a nice guy fishing next to me who caught a short flounder (released). it was pretty fat though. i missed one flounder early in the day. forward the end of the tide i got three nice hits and landed to schoolie stripers. they were both pretty healthy and feisty fish. let them go back to get bigger. it was good to see that no one was keeping short fish. This is a good sign that things are starting to come to life in the western sound! its been a long winter and its time to get out fishing!
