I got a chance to get out and try my new surf outfit. (shakespeare 10FT tide water rod and the new Penn pursuit II 6000)When I arrived 7:30am to the beach it looked like a hurricane had passed through over night. The beach was rearranged the looks and amount of weed and saw grass far up the banks. The surf was as rough as they come 5-7ft swells. But the water was crystal clear and close to no wind temp was in the 60's with patchy clouds. A strong sweep traveling east. And to top it all off a bunch of surfers showed up practically dodging my laures. They hung out just at the peak of a good cast. I felt like I would hook one so I moved to the west side of the jetty I think I threw my whole bag (jigg's with green, yellow, and white tals, popper's, SP minnow the floating type, shad, striper candy fake ell's) at the surf and got nothing! In my frustration I decided to go with bait. My Dad already had a bunker head soaking while I was begging for a fish with my laures...NOTHING! I said let me try a whole clam...NOTHING! We couldn't even snag some sea trash like a sea robin or sand shark. But I always enjoy the sun rise...tranquility and sollis. So my quest to "land" my first striper continues. Any pointers? <like href="http://www.noreast.com/postedreports/view.cfm?id=168087" send="false" show_faces="false" width='layout="button_count"'></like> Surfers uggg Sun rise Rough surf |
