Headed out for a 2 hour surf fishing this AM before work. I found a new spot that looked promising, as it had some structure and a nice rip and later on I realized there was a big hole by the second breaker too. Even the air smelled like fish were around. I set up a dead stick while throwing some tins/tubes and my line was cut deep by a fish (I presumed a blue). And I presumed right!! because as I attended to the bait stick, I had constant action of blue fish going after anything I threw at them. What's weird, they were smaller blues in the 2 - 4 lb range! I managed to bring 3 in the suds, and I did not set the hook 3 times. From the bite offs, there were smaller ones in the mix too. I was not prepared for small blues like that, as I did not have the right ammo with me. I wish I could have stayed for the flood, as I started to smell stripers in the air. I was surprised that the beach was nearly empty. When I was leaving I saw 3 guys walking in. -------------------------<> Maybe everyone wanted to see the Giants lose again. They should have blitzed 2 guys during the last minutes as they were succesful doing before. They always give up touchdowns/fieldgoals when they play it back like they did in the final minute. Maybe they need a new coach. ------------------------------- I usually would not post pics of small blue, but I figured it is the end of the season and maybe some guys/gals would be happy seeing anything landed in the suds. <like href="http://www.noreast.com/postedreports/view.cfm?id=145529" send="false" show_faces="false" width='layout="button_count"'></like> Honey Hall BlueFish&BunkerHead |
