Hi Fish_Diva

There are several heavily stocked fish preserves in PA, one is Limestone Spring and another is in Poconos. edlredpreserve.com is located near PA but it is clsoer to Monticello NY
You pay per fish or per pound but it may give you some expose to trout. Pretty relaxing to actually catch without being fustrated! It's not that much of a "sport" going to the preserves; its just catching fish!

I have used ultra light, 6lb with spinners. Have also tied a fly to a spinning outfit but you have to add a float otherwise you don't have enough weight. I think it was called Black Gnat- looks like a housefly with a red tail. It works (even for kids!) Imagine that, "fly" fishing without the expense!

**** luck
