I was fishing the other day and caught a short fluke that inhaled my bait. I was near Eatons and caught what was roughly an 17" fluke that had to be released.

Oncce de-hooked this fish had a slim chance of survival, however I wanted to release it to avoid getting caught with a short.

If it died I still couldn't have kept it because everyone would say the short fish they caught was gut hooked.

So I guess the best way to go is just place a pretty much dead fish back?????
