Today we were fishing for striped bass. We looked for them in Jamaica bay, but they did not cooperate. I tried a few more spots around the area, but saw no good signs of life. The party of Tony, Chris, Dan, Michael, and Ron, were not disappointed when we set up anchor at Romer light. In 13 feet of water, I found some participants to play catch and release with for a couple of hours. Tony took home bragging rights with high hook and largest schoolie, 23 ½", but Dan was the man today with his buddies helping him celebrate his upcoming nuptials. The weather was good, the conditions were okay, and the fish were very hungry! I call it a success.
