FISH FINDER RIG....IF IM SETTING UP MY OWN RIG...
HOW LONG SHOULD THE LEADER BE FROM THE SWIVEL TO THE HOOK?

IS 40LB MONO OK?



ALSO...HOW FAR SHOULD THE SWIVEL BE FROM THE LURE?? (INCHES?)

For bait fishing (chunking) generally 12-18" and 40lb mono is fine for most circumstances. When fishing plugs I pre-tie flouro leaders of at least 4 feet long. I go longer because I do not use a snap, so I need some extra to allow for plug changes. -Rich

Rich as always is right.

An old saying goes something along the lines of make the leader as long as the fish you are after.. most times the fish will circle the lure to take it head first. If the fish is line shy and longer than your leader you may spook it.
