I know its not much, but then again he's only 6! give him a few years and watch out! From a camping trip we took to new hampshire last week. try to hold in the laughs, although he doesn't even know how to turn on a computer. have a good day

I've taught my kids that it doesn't matter what you catch or how you catch it...and most times you'll catch nothing but enjoy the day and
have fun doing it and being outside.

My father has a picture taken many many years ago of me holding the first fish I ever caught. It wasn't a big fish but I will always remember that day.

thanks for the great replies, like I said it was not much of a fish, but quantity over quality at that age, and to him catching it on his own it was a shark! and first fish on the yak...he has fun with 4 inch sunnies! It was pretty cool being on the yak, I caught a 15 inch pickeral and it turned the kayak around! LOTS OF FUN! For all dads with little ones out there, just remember to be patient...At 6 years old he can now last for a good 1/2 hour to an hour of fishing...when we started out (at 2 years old) it was two casts and then came the rocks and the sticks( thrown in the water of course) but I always made it fun for him so he would want to do it again and he has the makings of being a better fisherman than I am (not saying much though)...anyway have a great summer and tight lines...
