Went out to the Captree Bridge yesterday afternoon expecting to catch some bass. Several party boats stacked up to the northeast of the bridge but I didn't see any action. Noticed the Laura Lee heading out to the inlet so I decided to tag along and ended up on the F.I. reef in about 70 feet of water. Beautiful day outside - seas were one to two feet tops and lots of sunshine. Decided to try for fluke. The water temp was 48 degrees at the surface on the reef and, I imagine, much colder at depth. Didn't get a bite and it didn't look like the small group on the Laura Lee were doing any better. I think the water temp is still a bit cold for fluke outside but that could change in a heartbeat judging by what's happening inside.
By the way, the water temp was 56 degrees at the mouth of the inlet.
