Does anyone fish at the Fire Island National Seashore? I was thinking about trying to get the beach vehicle permit for FINS since I screwed up and didn't get my beach permit for Robert Moses. Any info would be appreciated.

Steve,yes I do and allot. You can't buy a permit or access the beach except for a boat till Sept 15. Permit fee is $40 with restrictions on Sat, Sun and holidays till Nov 1st. If you can't wait that long Suffolk County will be happy to take your money to access their county parks, $75 for county residents and $200 for all others. Prospector

Thanks for the reply. I was hoping to get out there before Sept. since that's when I can get the permit for RM. I guess the closest county park out there would be Smith Point. But I think county parks would probably be packed with people swimming. Is there any beach/surf access to Moriches Inlet?
