I'll be there. You have to remember that last year was the first year!! I've seen at least 2 custom plug builders talking about attending!! I'd love to see this thing grow up to be like the famous show they do in Asbury
LOL

Agreed. Last year was the first year so a second chance is definitely in order

I was there today and got to meet JNSKI, John Skinner and Fred G. from The Fisherman. Bought an autographed book from Skinner (down to earth guy) Alot of nice stuff but I really didnt see a differnce in price on certain items. There were some really nice fluke rigs in the first aisle to your right upon entering the hall. The J&H booth had 300yds. 30lb. and 50lb. Spiderwire Braid for 15 bucks, not bad. All in all good people good atmosphere, 5 bucks at the door..

I was at the show today and had a great time. Ran into Kevin and Leo and a few ol' cronies of mine :) Re-upped the MSA membership and found some REALLY sweet deals at Northport's table.

Had a great discussion with Steve P on the new Lami Super Surf series. NICE STIX!!! Also enjoyed a conversation with Capt Neil. I was loving a Rainshadow he has!!
Another nice chat with Capt Al about his bait finding techniques. After years of thinking about it I decided to finally book at trip with him after our conversation. Spoke with the owner of Rhode Island Poppers and lightened his shelf a little. LOL Nice wood at sweet price!!! Beautiful pikies!!! It was fun meeting and talking with JNSKI. Took a few of those off Paulie's hands too!!!

Personally, I had a great time!! I thought there were some pretty nice deals if ya did some diggin. Lookin' forward to next years!!

See ya at the Freeport show and then Noreast's at Suffolk!!

Paul

Thanks everyone for stopping in and saying hi. It is always great to put faces to all the names you see on the boards. I hope I was able to answer everyone's questions to their satisfaction.
It was alot of fun for me and as fate would have it, my booth was right next to Capt. Neil's, someone whom I have conversed with over the net and through these boards for a few years now, and finally got to meet him, quite an honor for me. I have never seen someone as passionate as he is about building fishing rods and it's amazing to watch him speaking with and interacting with the crowd. Not to mention his tireless efforts and donations to various charitable shows and get-togethers.
See you guys at the noreast show, I'll stop in and say hi this time.

Hi Paul, thank you for the very kind words about the pikies :) we work very hard at them. Just one little thing is we are Rhode Island Poppers. ri lures is a company that started 2 years ago and has nothing to do with us, they just took a similar name

Best of luck with them. The show was wonderful. I cant wait to get back to LI. I'll be at the Noreast show in March
I'm luvin NY.

I went to the show to look around (I understand this is only the second year it's been done), but mainly to pick up my Long Islander series rod from Capt Neil. All I can say, is wow! Neil, you are an artist! If it fishes even half as good as it looks (and I'm sure it will), I'm in for one heck of a year! Thank you very much Neil, and I can't wait to get going on that codfish rod we spoke about.
