what is the best bait to use for eel pots and some other baits that work well? i heard crushed crab works, is that horseshoe crab or any type? anything else that works?

horshoe crabs work great. fish racks work very well too.

Female horseshoe crabs are best for both eel pots or crab pots unfortunately.

You can also use skimmer clams!

Female horseshoe crabs are best but it is now illegal to harvest them in NJ. I've switched to clam cull from the local depuration plant.

I really enjoy grilled eels so I have a couple of pots out in the Shrewsbury river.

I know the chicken legs work good for crabs but for eels?
