Headed out yesterday (tues) at 2:00 pm for what I am now calling "attack of the giant killer bluefish" Not exactly what we were looking for but man what action. Nonstop blues from 8-12 lbs on bunker chunks. They were chasing some fish too...perhaps butter fish? We were anchored and there were a lot of boats drifting and jigging and they were catching tons of small schoolie bass. I am pretty sure I dropped the biggest fish of the year too. I am also pretty sure it was a bass. I had him on for a good 3 minutes and boom he was gone. I thought my flouro leader had broken but when I pulled it up the hook was fine....ouch!!!! That hurt. Fish was WELL over 20 lbs too. He just kept running then coming, then running, etc. I am not gonna forget that one for a while. Not helping was my buddy heckling me for losing him. "I did nothing wrong" is all I kept saying!!!! Tight lines.....
