Hello fellow fishers!
Can you please explain how these drifting bags work? Will it work on the Race area on those strong currents? in another words will it slowdown my drift?
Thanks to all and God bless.

Sock's, Sea anchors

Yep, You can slow the drift down big time using those devices, but the Race's
current is brutal if your refering to Race Point at P-Town.... It's becomes a tide and wind direction consideration
to factor in if deploying a Sea Anchor..
or not.... in this area especially...!

I have one ; but don't use it in rip fishing, I find it more productive letting my bait drift with the tide as natural as possible.

Sea anchors

Jay
I'm still confused, say if the water current is 1 mph, naturally you are gonna to drift more or less at the same speed assuming there is no wind factor, are you saying that if I deploy a Sea Anchor I'll drift slower? Please clear this for me. Thanks and God bless

Sea Anchor

What they do is cause your boat to move at the same speed as the current. Example: Current is moving at 3 mph east, wind is blowing at 20 mph east, net speed of your boat is like 5 mph. A sea anchor will slow your boat down to about 3.5 mph. This allows you to fish with less weight. If the wind is against the tide (slowing your drift) a sea anchor will speed you up. In the right conditions it could be very helpful in the race.
