I've got a couple of older bait casting reels withstar drags. I have to really crank them down before I get any tension on the spool. Do I have to just replace the washers or do the springs also need to be replaced?

Sorry for the late response. I just got back from vacation. The reels are both Ambassaduers and DAM Quicks. I use them for bay fishing.
