Hello all , I never say bad things on noreast but I will tonite . I was out today fishing for Porgys . There were many boats fish for porgys but not many were comming up . I put the hook down and bang one on two and than three . I had them comming . All of a sudden a boat comes out of no were and see me catching fish . He puts his hook down and starts to fish , but he does not get a bite . I am getting them one after another . Suddenly I see a sinker fly next to my boat , mine you I am out on my boat by my self and there are 3 on the other boat . I tell the guy there is so much water out here why are you fishing on my back , I bend down to get some bait and The next thing I know bang I am hit in the head with somthing , I take my hat off and blood is every were, The (F_ck) hit me in the head with his line with a sinker and two hookes . I yell you just bust my head open I am(f_cking) bleeding . He never sed a thing so I call for help on channel 16 and the police were on the way . The blood was comming down at a good clip . I took my shirt off and put it on my head to try and stop the bleeding . Long story shot The police ,dec, and boat tow show up . Thay wanted to make shore I was ok and I was I stopped the bleeding . Thay took all my info and than both the police and dec ran over to the other boat . All this time the 3 guys from the other boat never asked if I was ok and never said sorry . When the police was gone I ran over to the boat and gave them **** . If I could have sank that boat I would have . I swanp the boat with big waves going around them 4 time at a fast speed . I know two wrongs dont make a right but just give other there space on the water dont fish on each others backs .I am home now resting looking to get out in the morning . I have a very large lump on my head with little to no pain at all . If you are out there you sorry no good for thing I well get you . Tight Line BRoWNBoY.......

btw- its just another reason to be armed. What if they just wanted to jump on board?

Must Carry

Weapons are a must on the open sea, especially if you fish alone. You must get there regestration number on the side of the boat if there is no name and you must pay attention to detail because there will be someone else that can recognize them. But weapon is there incase someone tries to board hyour boat. think it doesnt happen, WELL YOUR WRONG

Many of you know me very well . I do my own thing and try to stay to my self . I dont look for problems , I am not that kind of person . I hope this is a lesson for us all . keep an eye out and look to keep other away from you . I know I will see that boat again and I will be looking . I am sorry I did not take there picture . I just wanted the blood to stop and see what condition I was in . Thank you all for your concern. I an fine and cant wait to fish with you all again . Thanks BRoWNBoY ........... No seriously, a high powered fire hose would be a better choice. Would also work great for sailboaters who think it's OK to use your anchored craft as a racing buoy.

Oh and for any part time sailboaters on this site who may read this... Don't give me your speech on how stable or how safe close navigating is with a sailboat. I saw one go into an anchored Grady last fall. He almost sliced him in half but broadsided the poor guy at the last second. What a clown. In the mid sound no less. The entire LI Sound but had to steer next to another craft... I HATE SAILBOATS!!! .

I was all by myself at Matine**** today when a skiff from the Boat Livery on City Island decided to come near and anchor not 20` from me.I began to get this eerie feeling ,especially after speaking to Brown Boy. I couldn`t concentrate and kept looking over my shoulder. Thankfully I wasn`t doing well.After catching a few small porgies they left.It seems a lot more of patience is needed for fishing lately.

Amen to that. i can openly admit your a much better person than I Brown.

after my house was broken into awhile ago, pus for reasons like this, i make sure myself and my boat are protected. all it takes is 1 drunk or 1 guy who's watched one too many UFC fights to motor up and not think twice about trying to board you.

as bad as it sounds, good thing it was only a sinker they hit you with. it could have ended up 3 vs 1 with you taking an unplanned trip to the drink, or worse. tough guys on land are bad enough, a tough guy on water is 10x more dangerous.
