I have 7 rod/reel comb's for my boat and 3 for the surf, and I completely strip all line off, clean and lube the reels, clean the rod guides,I have been using clear nail-polish to protect the guide seats from getting messy on the rods. I then purchase a large spool of 17# test re-wind all reels & I'm ready to go. Next project, re-arrange the tackle boxes, make a bunch of new leaders, put them into zip-lock bags, etc. on&on. It at least keeps me busy in the cold of winter!!
