The trick is where you save the picture or scan. I am barely computer literate, so when I save a photo or scan, I save it to the desktop so that I can find it. You could save it any place you will be able to find it easily ( that is also a good reason to change the name when you are saving it to something you will recognize rather than just a file name ). Then when you click the browse button in the grey box where it says " Image (.gif / .jpg )" you will open up a new window. In the top part go to where you saved the photo ( thats why I save to desktop, that way I always know where to look ) and double click on the photo file you want to post. When you click "post message" it will post. Caution, if you use a real big file or photo it can be a problem, make it smaller and it will work easier, you don't need high resolution photos on the computer, even very low resolution shows very well on computer screens.

GONNA CONFUSE HIM........

Stiper77,

LOL, your really gonna confuse MT.

Using a smaller file loads faster.

MT, you might want to set up a Folder, either on your Desktop, or in your C drive, just for you PICS.

This way you know where you have them and can easily access to them.

Good luck, and any questions, just ask and if I can help, no problemo!

No AE here! LMAO

File type

Mike when you use a digital camera or a scanner the software will show you where the file is being saved on the hard drive. This is called the file path. Make a not of the path and when you go to post use the browse feature to find the picture. The scnnaer will store te file in one of three file formats .gif, .bmp or .jpg. This site will only accept .jpg or .gif. You can convert the .bmp file types by opening up the file w/ microsoft paint (under accessories group) and do a save as command to .gif or .jpg. Hope that is not to confusing.

I see you figured it out Mike. Good job. Like JP said, this site will automatically compress the files to fit.

It looks like your scanner was scanning the entire bed instead of just the picture. When you bring up the scanner, choose the preview function first. Then adjust the box to just scan the photo.

Everybody else already told you how to save the image after you scan it.
