I don't want to minimize the gravity of the situation by posting pixtures of someone's misfortune in the context of a fishing report. I went to the site because I spent the better part of my life working there, and wanted to see what was left. I wasn't expecting to catch anything Wednesday afternoon when I headed out, but I've always got a rod with me as long as the season's open. I managed to slip out to the bridge for the top of the tide on Tuesday night and didn't mark or catch anything. Water temps have been between 58 and 60, depending on the tide. Yesterday I had to get back to my launch before the stronger outgoing current started. Started marking fish around Warners Islands, east of the bridge. If I stayed inbetween passing debris felds, I could keep my line clean enough to troll a line, so I gave it a shot. Caught 2 small (24-26") bass before I had to move on. I was marking bigger ones in the deeper parts of the channel, in 20-30 feet. <like href="http://www.noreast.com/postedreports/view.cfm?id=156637" send="false" show_faces="false" width='layout="button_count"'></like> North side of Old Ponquogue Bridge Road I breach Commercial dock looking east Devastation Looking west from inlet |
