Hey What do you fellas think of Mr. Steinbrenner calling Jeter a party animal and stirring up the team already this year,just because his 27th birthday lasted until 3am?..Big Deal..This guy is an invaluable resource to the Yankees, 4 rings and Hall of Fame #'s so far, his #'s have steadily declined over the past 4 yrs but they are still great #'s by any means.. I think the Bossman should just keep his lip tight and let Jeter do what he does best..Play Ball

If he kept his mouth shut, he wouldn't be George. This is really not an issue, the media is blowing it all out of proortion. The interview I saw with Jeter, he pretty much understood what GSB was doing, and that was it. The fact that the media are a bunch of idiots and have nothing else to tak about is making this a big deal.

George is a businessman. He doesn't care about being a nice guy. The Yankees got embarrased last year, and he remembers that. Jeter's numbers have been falling, and he thinks that Jeter is key, which may be true. So, typical George, he is using the media to light a fire under him, because it has the best chance of working.
