Hey Crazy Al,

Can you please tell me what the difference between a 3/0, 4/0, and 5/0 reel are besides the obvious width differences? I just received a Penn Super GTi 345, it's a 5/0 reel, holds 375yd of 50# line.

My grandfather just sent it up here for me because he doesn't like it, used it off his dock for 10 minutes, then decided he didn't like it. Do you think the reel is too large for a Daiwa Sealine X boat rod that is stated at 20-60# line, and 3-8oz of lead?

Also, if the pole won't exactly fit with the reel, can you suggest a pole that would fit it?

Thanks in advance!

The Penn and Daiwa combo will be a blackfish/bluefish rod, primarily...

The reel itself I might throw on my 80lb. standup rod when I head off-shore because the GTI is a lot nicer than my current senator, but time will tell...
