I'm interested in trying to make a Daisy chain with 3 rubber squids built into it.
I have my hook snelled with the 1st squid.
Can anyone offer any suggestions on how to keep the 2nd and 3rd squid from sliding onto each other, keeping them seperated.
I have something up my sleeve and am doing research and developmenton a rig.
After I try it out and it deems some what succesfull, I will pass along to all you great fisherman.
Thanks for any suggestions and help guys.

Not sure what type of chain you are trying to set up, probably bait chain being your only using 3 squid. Try a single crimp sleeve to keep the squid from moving. I didnt know you billfish:). I guess I should place my order now!!

Had this very same question. I was thinking a crimp would stress my leader, so I looked elsewhere. Is is possible to run a series of knots and still maintain leader strength -- or enough of it? If so, what knot would work best. I was looking to do a green machine with 4-5 teasers along 6-8 foot 150 lb Jinkai, but I'm thinking a knotted rig would only have one or two fish in it before heartache.

Squid daisy chain

1st squid should have a small egg sinker and then a crimp. 2nd squid a bead and a crimp. 3rd squid with hook should also have a bead and a crimp.
Hope this helps.

There are many various ways to make daisy chains especially for rubber squid.
Some people put small cigar floats in them followed by a crimp

Try using a small piece of yer leader material in the crimp with the leader, this way the crimp lays flat on the leader, and also keeps you from over squeezing the crimp and nicking the leader. Seems like 300 lb. leader is a little safer. LATER

Chains...

Bucktail hs the right idea. You need that extra piece of leader material in the crimp to prevent slippage or a nick.I use 200 lb leader material, beads and crimps,NO KNOTS. Knots will only weaken the line.I also use 4 or 5 teasers then a trailer with the hook.Use loop protectors, they do work against chaffing. If you want to put different lures behind your chain then under the last squid teaser crimp a snap swivel, then take a few different lures you might want to use(small jetheads, clones or different colored squids and rig them with a 14-16" leader,a hook and a swivel. This way you can change lures and use the same daisy chain.

Daisy Chains

For hollow body squids, there are two pro ways to set them up....

1- For small hollow squids ( 6" ) you crimp the desired hook ( 6/0 ) and a second single crimp around 3" ahead of the crimp holding the hook..Then slide a 1/4 oz egg sinker down, and then your squid...That's the hook bait. Then around 2 - 3 feet up, crimp another SINGLE crimp, slide another 1/4 oz egg sinker, and then the next squid...Repeat this proceedure with the desired amount of squids, and end it with a loop with chafing gear and crimp.

2 - Larger hollow squid do the same but instead of egg sinkers use a large cork egg that fits into the squid.

3 - With solid squids, do the same as mentioned above except use a single green machine bead or small bead instead of the egg sinkers or the egg corks.........Howie

egg Sinkers........

Thanks Howie,
I have been using the beads and they work great.
The egg sinker is also a great idea and I'm going to keep that in mind and give it a shot when I make a few more of my chains up.
