I purchassed tubing from Terminal tackle in an attempt to create my own umbrella rigs as well as to replace on my 007's. I never thought much about the diagnal cut with the split in it untill I tried to make it with an exacto knife and razor blade. I found it **** near impossible to make a clean diagnal cut in the tubing and even splitting the tail the cut is just about never straight. Are there any tips for creating these tubes from a coil of tubing?? Any insight would be appreciated!

I haven't used them for cutting tubing yet, but those handheld pruners used for trimming trees should work.

HUH? I'm having tbl using a razor blade!

Those pruners have a modified (as in heavier) razor blade style jaw. Sears, for less than 10 bucks and you can say they're for the wife's roses!

I agree with the fishingfreak. A good pair of scizors works perfectly for me.If you have left over tubing you can make bait tails or nordic eels by fitting them on leadheads of various weights.

I cut my tubing whether large blue or striper 3/8 tubes or mackerel 3/32 tubes with 12" sissors.There are 16" sissors available though a large cuterly house.
