Can anyone help me find a rig making kit... im looking for something that comes with various colored beads, spinners ect.. or are these things I need to just accrue?

I want to experiment with some fluke and bottom fishing rigs and some Jigs for this season for the heck of it....

any help would be appreciated

next yr accrue all that stuff at the winter shows. you'll get better prices. but for now where you are id prob just go to j+h and grab a basket.

Just buy a plano and buy the things that you need. From experience, if you buy one of those kits there will a lot of things that you won't need and they will just rust away...

Since you're in Patchogue I agree with Gebby, J&H in Oakdale is your best bet to put together a nice rig-making kit.

for beads of all sizes and colors, go to Michaels or another craft store and get them much cheaper and in greater variety.

Thanks Gebby, there are actually lots of things in a craft store that can be "resourced: for fishing.

Take spectra scissors, instead of the Braid $30 scissors, you can get the same quality for <$10.

velcro has lots of uses as does webbing, snaps and various buckles and zippers, all much cheaper than at a tackle store or marine supply.

The possibilities are only limited by your imagination

i buy braid scissors by the 3 pack for a dollar at ikea. quick spray of crc non corrosion and the only issue is droppin em over.

For braid cutting I use my son's Fiskars Kids Safety Scissors - about $3 or so in any dept store. Decent metal too, they're very slow to rust up.

The B&T in Freeport has a great selection of beeds including flurescent beeds in green that I really like in different sizes and spoons all by the piece.

Lep - that's a great tip I've been "stealing: my kids fiskars scissors for braid for a couple years.

They are SS and work great!
